This project is one of the first in Berkeley to take advantage of regulations allowing ADUs on multi-family properties. The scope includes the renovation of an upper unit and conversion of a ground floor garage to an ADU. The result is two nearly identical stacked studio units – the upper floor renovation as a condo unit, and the ground floor garage converted to an ADU. Both units have direct access to the open space in the rear yard. The efficient design and abundant natural light help the small spaces feel bright and airy.
