Oakland, CA
This 5-unit condo project consists of two townhouse buildings and one separate, single-family home nearing completion. Careful attention was taken to work with the on-site orientation of the structures to maximize solar access and create a pedestrian-friendly environment. Each individual unit feels unique with its own sense of character and each has a private yard and balcony.
We put special attention toward making the homes feel well-connected between stories with open stairways. Each unit has a ground floor garage, kitchen and great room and second floor and attic bedrooms. The thoughtful use of first floor space combined with the balconies, the street entrance of the front unit and landscaped, pedestrian path to all units help to engage the street. The narrow width and three separate buildings help to bring the scale to that of the surrounding homes and small apartment complexes.
