Oakland, CA
This small, corner-lot, ranch home didn’t suit the neighborhood or the needs of its new owners. While keeping with a northwest farmhouse motif, we expanded the home with a new second story addition and a full renovation of the first floor.
The second floor design features a central stair hall with a light-filled cupola, a master suite with a private balcony, a handsome study, and two additional bedrooms. We fully opened up the first floor to connect the kitchen, living and dining areas. The kitchen has been expanded to include a built-in breakfast nook and bar.
Site terracing has been reconfigured to accommodate a spacious patio and the existing garage has been expanded and refinished to better compliment the main house.
