Shannon Riley (she / her)
Associate
Shannon’s love of learning how things are made and understanding how they go together are evident in everything she does at Gunkel Architecture. From model-making, presentation layout, and developing permit drawings, she is informed by her clarity around how drawings and buildings are constructed. Early in her career, Shannon was so inspired by construction, she became a builder and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. She believes architecture can be a medium to make the world a better and more beautiful place and aims to move the built environment toward a more sustainable and equitable future. One of her favorite projects is 1111 Lincoln Road, a parking garage by Herzog & de Meuron, which elevates the building type by applying thoughtful design. When not hard at work, you can find Shannon running, reading, and playing ultimate frisbee.
