This 45-household, 2.5 acre infill development serves households making up-to 60% of the area mean income. Amenities include a 3,000 square foot common house and community garden as well as shared meals, a babysitting club and after-school study sessions. Sustainable features include photovoltaic power for all common areas, passive solar design and landscaping based on permaculture principles. Petaluma Avenue Homes was awarded the 2010 Golden Nugget Award by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference for Best Affordable Housing under 30 Dwelling Units per Acre and was an Affordable Housing Finance magazine 2010 Readers’ Choice Finalist.
