Boulder, CO
One of the first senior Cohousing developments in the United States is Silver Sage, a multi-tiered, fully accessible community including 16 private homes and abundant common facilities (including a kitchen, dining room, crafts room, living room, guest rooms and storage) surrounding a garden courtyard on less than an acre of land. The design represents a revolution in senior living where residents take their future into their own hands to create a supportive community in which to travel their life path with the richness and fulfillment they desire.
Silver Sage Village was recognized with the 2008 Best of 50+ Housing Silver Award from the National Association of Homebuilders as well as the 2009 Award of Merit for affordable senior housing from the American Institute of Architects and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
